Marigolds Forever Scarf and Wristlets

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

This pattern was designed for my mother, who was born in October. Marigolds are October’s birth flower. It’s made with a chunky yarn and a large hook, so it works up fast enough that you just might be able to squeeze a set out before the holidays.

Size: One size fits most. The elastic nature of this stitch pattern makes a very stretchy fabric.

Pattern Level: Intermediate

Gauge: 8 hdc and 8 rows in 4 inches.

Materials:

  • 300 yd Malabrigo Mecha or bulky weight yarn
  • Size N (9.0mm) crochet hook
  • Size H (5.0mm) crochet hook
  • Yarn needle

Rows 3-12. Rep row 2.

Row 13. Ch 1; turn. Fold work in half so that row 12 lines up with row 1. Sc in bottom of first 4 st of row 1 to form thumb hole. Then working in row 12 and bottom of row 1 at the same time (so that you are crocheting through a double layer), sc evenly across remaining length of Wristlet. Finish off.

Finishing. Sew 1 Marigold (pattern follows) on top of each Wristlet, near wrist edge. Weave in all ends.
