Hockey Socks
I was kind of ridiculously excited to design these when the man of the house took up hockey after a 15-year hiatus. As any crocheter knows, ]it’s not often that an opportunity comes along to make something for a man that he might actually wear!
As I am anticipating the little one and her friends to take up an interest in hockey, I sized these from XS (one size smaller than Mite) to an Adult XL. Sizing instructions are given in the pattern. I recommend using a superwash wool (particularly Cascade 220 Superwash Sport). Not only is the wool warm, but it is naturally moisture wicking. The superwash makes them machine washable (important for any sport accessory!).

Finished Size: XS (Mite, Youth, Junior, Intermediate, Senior, Adult, XL)
Materials:
- Color A (Black): 5 (6, 7, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14) skeins Cascade 220 Superwash Sport
- Color B (Orange): 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2) skeins Cascade 220 Superwash Sport
- Color C (Yellow): 1 (1, 1, 1, 1, 1, 2, 2) skeins Cascade 220 Superwash Sport
- Size H-8 (5.0mm) crochet hook
- Size J-10 (6.0mm) crochet hook
Note on Fit: Socks are designed with negative ease, which means the finished garment will measure smaller than your body measurements. This is to account for the stretch of the fabric and ensure that the finished socks hug the leg.
Other Pattern Notes: Pattern is written for smallest size with changes for larger sizes in parentheses. To avoid confusion, it may be helpful to circle the numbers corresponding to your size before beginning this project. When only one number is given, it applies to all sizes.
Special Stitch: Extended Single Crochet (exsc). Insert hook into indicated st, YO, draw a loop through, YO, draw through one loop, YO, draw through both loops.
