About

My name is Stacy Vaka and I began crocheting when I was 12 years old. I started Crochet Kitten in 2007 as a way to share about two of my favorite things: crocheting and cats. At the time I was the mother to two cats and a Lhasa Apso, but my family has grown since then, and I now homeschool two free-spirited, creative daughters.
A side effect of homeschooling is the tendency to want to make everything educational, so Crochet Kitten has now become more focused on crochet skill enrichment and teaching.
Frequently Asked Questions
Let’s be real—can I really stop you? Probably not. And for the most part, I am happy to help fellow crocheters make some side income using my patterns as inspiration. But are you a corporation looking to profiteer off my work and that of wage slaves? That I take issue with. Please view my Terms of Use for detailed information .
Sure! Thank you for sharing the love with your followers. I only ask that you include no more than one photo and one paragraph from my content and that you link back to the original post on my site.
You are welcome to do so as long as you credit Crochet Kitten for the original design and link back to the original pattern. See my Terms of Use for more detailed information. Feel free to share your work with me—I love seeing how art can evolve.
I am sorry, I do not have the time to dedicate to making video tutorials, but I am happy to clarify any information you found on this site. Please fill out the contact form below.
I am truly flattered, but in this stage of my life I am not able to accept commissions. Maybe I will again sometime in the future, when my girls are less dependent on me.
Is anyone else completely burned out on social media? I had to leave it behind and I discovered I do not miss it at all. If you would like to receive updates from me, please subscribe via the form at the bottom of the page.
