My name is Stacy Vaka, and I’ve been crocheting since I was twelve years old. What began as a creative hobby has grown into a lifelong love of the artistry behind crochet—how shape, texture, color, fiber, and history come together to create something both beautiful and meaningful.
Crochet Kitten is my studio for exploring that art. Here I design original crochet patterns, write books, and share lessons that help crocheters look beyond the pattern to understand the ideas behind it. Whether I’m exploring a design principle, uncovering a piece of crochet history, or publishing a new pattern, my hope is to encourage a deeper appreciation for this wonderful craft.
Crochet Kitten began in 2007 as a place to share two of my favorite things: crocheting and cats. Since then, life has become wonderfully full with marriage, motherhood, and learning alongside my daughters. Somewhere along the way, my love of learning found its way into Crochet Kitten as well, transforming it from a pattern blog into a place to explore the art of crochet.
