It is usually held in the right hand, even by left-handed crocheters, but left-handed crocheters may
sometimes hold it in the left hand.
The other way to hold the hook is like a knife, with the palm of your hand cupped around the hook as
shown below:
The crochet hook may be held in one of two ways. Most crocheters prefer to hold it like a pencil, as
shown below:
Choose whichever method is most comfortable for you. There is no right or wrong way to hold it, but
the knife method may offer your wrist more protection against carpal tunnel syndrome.
